PRESUMPTION OF INNOCENCE, HUMAN DIGNITY, AND THE PROHIBITION OF TORTURE IN NIGERIAN LAW ENFORCEMENT: A LEGAL AND HUMAN RIGHTS PERSPECTIVE
Constitutional rights, being fundamental, are meant to be enjoyed by all citizens and protected by the highest law of the land. However, these rights are often violated by the very government agencies tasked with upholding them. This calls for urgent action by the government to lead by example in respecting human rights and upholding democratic values.
