Nigeria recorded an impressive adoption of digital currency before the ban on banks and other financial institutions, due to the threat trading and the use of cryptocurrency posed at that time. This was based on the fact that it was an uncharted arena in Nigeria, with no regulation safeguarding the citizens and residents from the issues or challenges facing the adoption and use of digital assets/ currency.
Some people, rightly called celebrities, have created so much value attributed to their personalities that they have become brands. This personality has made them so influential that it has created an atmosphere, where they can exploit this value for their own economic benefits.
It is imperative that the legislature begin to look at enacting a specialized law like they did with Health law, Energy, Finance, Tax, etc., and not just leave the regulation of the entertainment industry in the hands of multiple overlapping and oftentimes conflicting areas of law.
