Legal Framework and Regulatory Challenges in the Niger-Delta Region of Nigeria on Oil Exploration and Land Degradation
Despite the Niger Delta being the largest producer of oil and the primary revenue generator for the country, it is saddled with different forms of pollution due to oil activities that happen in that region. This ecocide is due to several factors that range from the absence of well-structured laws, failure to implement, violent activities of the communities and so on, but the core issues discussed in this write-up are the failure of structural lapses and regulatory challenges that are faced.
