Also, as the sports Industry evolves, so does the disputes that arise from contracts and agreements become more.  For over thirty years, the landscape of International Sports Arbitration has been dominated by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland. While Sports Arbitration shares many characteristics with commercial arbitration, many interesting features that distinguishes it from non-sports-related arbitration are not ignored.

DEFINITION OF KEY TERMS

ARBITRATION is a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Arbitration is a private process whereby a private disinterested person called an arbitrator, chosen by the parties in dispute, but without regards to legal technicalities, applying either existing laws or norms agreed by the parties, and acting in accordance with equity, good conscience and the perceived merit of the dispute makes an award which is binding to resolve the dispute.
